Coast Guard Forum ships train together in Seattle, Port Angeles, Wash.

SEATTLE — In support of the North Pacific Coast Guard Forum (NPCGF), an international partnership of Coast Guard-like agencies from Japan, Russian, China, South Korea, Canada and the U.S., the U.S. Coast Guard will host an international, humanitarian service training exercise Aug. 24-27 in the Port Angeles, Wash., and Seattle areas.

The training evolution, named Pacific Unity to honor the partnerships that exist among the NPCGF nations, will bring humanitarian professionals from all the NPCGF partner nations to train on Aids to Navigation, Search and Rescue and Maritime Security Operations.

Ships from Japan, Canada, China and Russia as well as security personnel from South Korea are scheduled to participate in the various events.

The ships are scheduled to visit and operate out of the Port Angeles area Aug. 24 and will travel to Seattle Aug. 26.
